Acklam entertained Brompton on a decent afternoon at the Acorn Centre
Acklam started on the front foot and pressed Brompton back early on, Alex Hamblen showed his intent early on as he crossed brilliantly to the far post but there was no one their to finish the chance
Stephen Waite and Adam Lane combined to set Alex Hamblen in who’s shot went just wide.
Acklam opened the scoring when Jordan Wales provided the cross from the right wing for Adam Lane to head home at the back post
Acklam increased their lead when a shot from Jack Cubbin hit the bar and was put back into the box for Adam Lane to head home again.
Stephen Waite then chipped the keeper from just inside the area to make it 3-0
Alex Hamblen then added a fourth after latching onto a pass from Charlie Collin
On 23mins Joe Stubley scored a contender for goal of the season when he hit a shot from 30yds out that hit the underside of the bar bounced down and back up into the roof of the net
Adam Lane latched onto a great through ball and knocked it past the advancing keeper to complete his hat trick
Adam Lane then scored another back post header from a cross from Jordan Wales

Acklam made four changes at half time bringing on Michael Hurndall Michael Bond Josh McDermott and a debut for Lewis Bolland
The change of formation took a while for Acklam to adjust to but it didn’t stop Alex Hamblen increasing the lead even further with a strike from just inside the box
Joe Stubley then played in Alex Hamblen to complete his hat trick and make the score 9-0
Alex Hamblen then turned provider when he crossed for Stephen Waite to score again
Stephen Waite then completed his hat trick as he battled his way through the middle to score
Adam Lane chipped over the defence for Joe Stubley to score his second and Acklam’s 12th

A very one sided game in which Acklam did their goal difference the power of good
Credit to the Brompton lads who never gave up and battled to the final whistle
MOM: Jack Cubbin ran the show in midfield and was involved in nearly ever Acklam goal
