Acklam FC v Hartlepool St Francis 2000

Sunday 20th April 2008

 

Acklam entertained Hartlepool St Francis 2000 in their final home game of the season. Acklam started the game with Stephen Waite playing in goal as both regular keepers were away

Acklam had an early opportunity when a Alex Hamblen found space to cross but Adam Lane put his shot just wide

Alex Hamblen was causing havoc down the left with some great wing play and his next cross was turned home by Adam Lane at the back post. This was Acklam's 100th league goal this season

Michael Bond played in a free kick that was flicked on by Adam lane but Josh McDermott sadly shot wide

Alex Hamblen fired in a corner and Josh McDermott scored his first goal of the afternoon with a good finish

Charlie Collin and Alex Hamblen combined well down the left but Adam lane headed over form the resulting cross

Adam Lane was then brought down after a great turn in the box, sandy davison stepped up but hit the post and Adam Lane blazed the rebound over the bar

From the resulting goal kick Jordan Wales had a shot rebound off the post but Josh McDermott was on hand to finish and make it three nil

Jordan Wales and Jack Cubbin then both had shots saved by the St Francis keeper

Adam Lane then beat the keeper when put through one on one to make it 4-0

Michael Bond played a terrific ball down the left and a great flick by Adam lane set up Alex Hamblen to cut inside and score

Adam Lane then fed Josh McDermott who fired into the corner of the net to complete his hat trick

Jack Cubbin's throw down the left and yet another great cross from Alex Hamblen found Adam Lane to complete his hat trick

Jack Cubbin played a great ball through for Adam Lane who beat both the Keeper and Defender on the line to score Acklam's 8th

Josh McDermott fired over a great corner and Jack Cubbin headed just over

Alex Hamblen and Josh McDermott then had good shots saved by the keeper

Lewis Bollands played a good ball into Josh McDermott who chipped the advancing keeper for a great finish

Jack Cubbin rounded of the scoring with a terrific strike into the far corner for Acklam's tenth goal of the game

Acklam passed the ball and moved very well and could of had a lot more goals but for some wayward finishing and some excellent saves from the H'Pool goal keeper. All in all another terrific win gained by hard work and some great movement both with and without the ball

MOM: Alex Hamblen back to his brilliant best with some great wing play, you will not find a better left winger in the league than this lad
