Acklam Football Club

Brompton are currently second in the league and are well in with a shout of taking the league however, I believe we were very poor and gave Brompton an easy win. From the off we failed to get a foot hold in the games and lost most 50/50’s, As usual Nathan and Harry were very strong however it was relentless pressure that lost us the first goal. At half time we changed both Sam and Jo and brought on Dillon and Cory in an attempt to gain a foot hold in midfield, We did start to get into the game and created 1 or 2 half chances and with the last 10 minutes we brought off Nathan, And let Arron go up front in his place in the hope of grabbing a goal. With a few minutes left to play Harry got exposed and Kieron was lobbed, this for me was the best goal I have seen at this level. Both Harry and Kieron done nothing wrong and couldn’t have done much more to prevent the goal, we had to push we did and it didn’t work.

Take nothing away from Brompton they played well but we really didn’t make the game hard for them. The second game we played was 8 aside and was much improved however we went down 2-1 with Dillon grabbing our goal. Jo and Luke were particularly bright in this game, Dillon was always a threat and we looked quite strong at the back with Arron and Jamie.
