            Match Report

Acklam FC v Brompton Jnrs

27th September 2009

Acklam started today’s game very well pushing at Brompton, with the pitch being very small it was difficult for us to play the way can through Sam and Lucas, everything was played closed in and tight, saying that we coped very well and had quite a lot of chances the best falling to Sam who struck a sweet shot beating the keeper, 1 nil Acklam. We carried on the first half but never managed to gain anymore advantage.

We made a change to centre midfield, unfortunately we lost our shape totally and everything seemed to collapse around our ears, Brompton had us pinned in our own half nearly all second half to which they capitalised on twice. It was hard to watch all our hard work falling apart, our passing was not there, shape had gone and no-one wanted a shot.

Full Time: Brompton Jnrs 2 – 1 Acklam FC .

Managers Comments: We just have to regroup and put it behind us. To take nothing away from Brompton who are a good team, I thought we could have won it if we played like the first half. Sometimes the managers have to take some of the blame maybe we should not have changed the team when we are winning.

The overall disappointing thing for us was we let our heads drop and not fight back and no shots we had 2 all game..1 we scored and the other was Kieron kicking the ball from his goal.

Chins up and lets fight back.

MOM : Kieron Ezard…once again played a captains role.
