            Match Report

Tollesby v Acklam FC

Sunday 28th March 2010

Due to issues with Tollesby’s pitch this game was played at home. The first few minutes were tight but once Acklam started to settle we began to take control of the game. The first goal came at the right time and set us on our way. One issue we have had this season is the lack of confidence to shot early and I believe over the last 2 games this has been much improved, Lewis was a constant threat showing great strength and speed which his man marker wasn’t able to cope with. Lewis grabbed a hat trick. Lucas looked very much the part in centre midfield as his ability to break up the play and send us forward was vital, He also grabbed himself a well took goal. Joe played the first half and was effective and looked to play the ball in behind and have a shot where possible. Sam looked much improved and was a constant pain to the opposition, His not always been a keen tackler but today was much improved, His eye for a pass is there for all to see, he has a good shot and was very direct. He complimented the performance with a goal. The back three Kieron, Harry and Nathan didn’t put a foot wrong all game long, Its great to have 3 players so reliable who will always give 100% all communicated well and looked to play the ball early. A tiring midfield put a fair bit of pressure on the back 3 towards the end of the game but they dealt with it excellently and were rewarded with a clean sheet. Arron came on as a second half sub to give us a bit more defensive stability when we were 2-0 up. Arron has a superb pass on him and his positioning is always very good.

Credit to Tollesby who were without subs gave it 100% and ended up losing 5-0, they played well but on the day we matched them in every department, We had the opportunity to score more but hitting the post twice however we wasn’t made to pay for it.

Final Score: Acklam FC 5 v 0 Tollesby

On a personnel note I think its great to see our lads constantly giving there all, Its constantly mentioned by opposition parents that the team work by the players at the club is great and play some great football. I feel the encouragement the parents give on the side lines helps this tenfold.
