Acklam FC v Richmond Town
Sunday 11th October 2009
Acklam played Richmond at the Acorn Centre this week after last weeks defeat by them away
It was always going to be a game of two halves with the very strong wind blowing down the pitch
Acklam really battled hard in the first half and showed they would not back down against a hard, physical and sometimes dirty side
Richmond were very fortunate to finish the half with 11 players still on the pitch after a disgusting outburst from the centre forward as he was taken off when injured
Half Time: Acklam FC 0 v 0 Richmond Town
Richmond showed just what a good team they can be in the second half by scoring four goals without reply, but their general attitude was appalling with 3 yellow cards & a red card proving the point.
I must give my players a pat on the back for their attitude in not retaliating to off the ball kicks that should have resulted in more red cards
This is not sour grapes at losing, but one side were a credit to junior football, the other was certainly not. The sad thing is they are a very good side who don’t need to do resort to this behaviour and attitude.
Full Time: Acklam FC 0 v 4 Richmond Town
MOM: Michael Bond put in a great performance in the heart of the midfield
