Acklam FC v Darlington TSC
Sunday 15th November 2009
Acklam had their fifth home game on the trot when they entertained TSC
TSC started like a house on fire and went into a 2-0 lead within 9mins with some good finishing, helped along the way by indecision in the Acklam defensive third of the pitch.
It took Acklam along time to get going and to be fair TSC should have already put the game beyond doubt, but when they did they pulled one back through the very impressive Jack Boddy.
Half Time: Acklam FC 1-2 TSC
Acklam through everything at TSC in the opening minutes of the second half and equalised when Jack Boddy grabbed his second direct from a corner
Acklam continued to pile the pressure on and only three or four outstanding saves from the TSC keeper kept them out
TSC to their credit weathered the storm and added two spectacular goals to finally kill off Acklam’s hopes of a first home win of the season
Full Time: Acklam FC 2-4 TSC
A good game played in the right spirits by two sides looking to kick start their season
We have to convert our chances and stop making silly mistakes
Special mention for Referee Daniel Garthwaite who was brilliant in his handling of this game, talking to the players and explaining every decision to them was first class.
MOM: Jack Boddy & Danny Helm
Jack has grown into a terrific player and is improving all the time with his good finishing
Danny has come into the team and given 100% in every game, has taken his chance and made it impossible to leave him out
