2009/2010 Season Review

Under 10's  2009/2010

Under 15's  2009/2010

This season has had its ups & downs on the pitch with both the Under 10 & Under 15 squads having struggled to find the consistency needed.

Both squads have worked very hard this season, with the Under 10’s gaining  20 Points and finishing a creditable  9th in only their second season and  I’m sure they will be looking forward to playing 11 a side next season and will spring a few shocks along the way and go on to be a force to be reckoned with next season.

The Under 15’s squad lost the backbone of the team last summer and also as the season went on the squad has had plenty of coming and goings. It is always difficult when you haven’t got a settled side and this showed in a very disappointing season after so much success in recent years, but rest assured they will be back fighting even harder next season.

Both sides have on occasions had some great performances that we hope they can build on for next year.

We have recently increased the size of the club by adding an   Under 8 squad & Under 12 squad for next season, and welcome the new coaches, players and parents

My thanks go to all the coaches, Daniel, Shaun, Luke from the U15. Andy, Mickey & Martin from the U10 who have put a lot of time and effort into Acklam FC. People don’t realise how much time it actually takes to run a junior football team and sometimes to the detrimental effect of their own family so without their support none of this would be possible.

Also Mark Page who coaches our goalkeepers of both age groups every 3 weeks or so and has brought them on in leaps and bounds.

A big thank you to Guy Whatmore and his staff at the Acorn Centre for the use of the facilities. The new Acklam Grange School is nearly complete and we will have some of the best pitches to play on next season.

Michael Kilvington from A66 Trophies for supplying us with the magnificent trophies for our presentation night.

To all the parents for your continued support and encouragement you give your kids and the help you give to your respective managers.

To all the players, for your fully committed effort you have put in through one of the worst winters for a long time.

I hope next season you get the rewards you deserve and like me and all the other coaches, you are proud to be associated with Acklam FC.
