We have had a very successful season both on and off the pitch. Culminating in our U12 squad enjoying a great night at The Tall Trees to receive their Division 6 Champions trophy at the League Presentation Night. This is a fantastic achievement after setting up this season and combining two teams together.
Unfortunately the U16 & U11’s just failed to make it a hat trick as they both finished 3rd in their respective age groups. But I’m sure the experience gained this season will stand them in good steed for next season.
Our U8 have just finished their first season and I know have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be looking forward to competitive football next season.
So next season we will not only have U9 U12 U13 and U17 but also a new U8’s team that will be competing in the TJFA for the first time.
At the start of the season we also secured a full club sponsorship from Pizza Hut Delivery who’s name we proudly wear on our shirts. So a massive thank you to Mark Holt of Pizza Hut Delivery for his Sponsorship of all age groups kits this season.
As you know we have made massive strides over the past 6 years, after
originally starting out with one team in 2005 and now having increased to 5 teams.
So sponsorship like this from such a well known and prestigious company like Pizza Hut Delivery means all Acklam FC teams can play in the same kit for the first time ever and are noticed wherever we play.
We hope with continued links with Pizza Hut Delivery we can grow the club even bigger in the future.
Still on sponsorship our U8 side also secured a sponsor for tracksuits from Allen Plant Hire and the U12 team got sponsorship for their tracksuits from Tim Gristwood from Time Out of the Box, so a massive thank you to all concerned.
This season saw us do two events to raise club funds a Bag Pack at Tesco Coulby Newham and also a Race Night that in total brought in a fantastic amount for the club. A massive thank you again to everyone who took part.
It is a very hard job raising funds to allow us to keep the cost of subscriptions down and it is with this in mind that we are looking to appoint a Fundraising coordinator who could take over this challenging role. So if you feel like you could help in this let me know
A massive thank you to Mark Bond who this season became our clubs referee’s co-ordinator, Mark’s role is to organise ref’s for every home game, a thankless task but one that takes a lot of pressure off the managers to try to arrange
A big thank you to Guy Whatmore and his staff at the Acorn Centre for the use of the facilities. The new Acklam Grange School pitches are some of the best in junior football.
My thanks also go to all the managers & coaches, who have put a lot of time and effort into Acklam FC and to their own families, who without their support none of this would be possible
To all the parents for your continued support and encouragement you give your kids and the help you give to your respective managers.
To all the players, for your fully committed effort you have put in through one of the worst winters for a long time.
I hope like me and all the other coaches, you are proud to be
associated with Acklam FC.
