Billingham Town v Acklam FC
Sunday 7th March 2010
Acklam and Billingham met for the 3rd time this season in this Challenge Cup game.
Billingham started like a house on fire going 2-0 up inside the first seven minutes
Aclam pulled one back when Jack Boddy finished off a good move and cross from down the right hand side
Straight from the restart Acklam fell asleep and Billingham made it 3-1 and as the half went on added a fourth with a good move down their left
Acklam responded by pulling another back just before half time when Ste Waite pounced on a mix up between goal keeper & defender and slotted into the empty net
In the 2nd half dean Ellis scored his first goal for Acklam from a Jack Boddy corner to make it 4-3. Then Acklam went all out for an equaliser and went close on a couple of occasions but were caught on the break as Billingham added a 5th in the closing minutes
Final Score: Billingham Town 5-3 Acklam
Again we can be very proud of our performance but again a lack of discipline and failure to clear our lines cost us
We cant afford to switch of as much as we do because this is costing us in loads of games
MOM: Jack Boddy
Played up front and did very well scoring and setting up the other two
