Heighington v Acklam FC
Sunday 7th February 2010
Acklam played Heighington in the Challenge Cup away on a very wet day.
Acklam went in front when Josh McDermott scored, this was Josh’s 100th goal in Acklam colours and is the clubs second top scorer of all time
Heighington equalised and grew in confidence as the game went on
Further goals from Danny Helm & Charlie Collin looked to have put Acklam through, but Heighington hit back to equalise and take the game into extra time
With no further goals in extra time we went to a penalty shoot out to see who would go through to meet Billingham Town in the next round.
Acklam scored all 7 of their penalties and Ste Waite saved the important one to send Acklam through 7-6
Final Score: Heighington 3-3 Acklam FC
We made hard work of getting through, and Heighington played some great stuff.
The penalties were coolly converted by all who stepped up.
MOM: Ste Waite
Had a great game as an outfield player then as extra time drew to a close took over in goal for the shoot out and saved the important one to send Acklam through 7-6
